preparation of reactive and thermal stable hyperbranched graft copolymers/ clay nanocomposite via ‘living’ free radical polymerization

چکیده
exfoliated poly (chloromethyl styrene-co-styrene)-g-polyacrylonitryle/organo- modified montmorillonite [p(cmst-co-st)-g-pan/o-mmt] nanocomposite was synthesized through solution intercalation method by using atom transfer and nitroxide mediated radical polymerization. at first, poly (chloromethyl styrene-costyrene) copolymer was synthesized by nitroxide - mediated “living” free radical polymerization (nmrp). this chlorinated copolymer used as a macro initiators for atom transfer radical polymerization (atrp). these macro initiators were polymerized acrylonitryle monomers in the presence of cucl as a catalyst and the 2, 2’ – bi pyridine (bpy) as a legend in the tetrahydrofurane (thf) solvent at 90oc. organophilic montmorillonite (o-mmt) was obtained after treating by hexadecyl trimethyl ammonium chloride salt by ion-exchange process. finally, (pcmst-co-pst)-g-pmma / o-mmt nanocomposite was prepared by solution intercalation method. the exfoliating structure of nanocomposite was probed by x-ray diffraction (xrd) and scanning electron microscopy (sem).

متن کاملMesogen-jacketed liquid crystalline polymers via stable free radical polymerization
Stable free radical polymerization has been used in the controlled synthesis of poly(2,5-bis[(4butylbenzoyl)oxy]styrene), PBBOS. This “mesogen-jacketed liquid crystalline polymer”, which has mesogenic units attached directly to the backbone in a side-on mode, has been found to exhibit thermotropic liquid crystallinity similar to more conventional main-chain architectures. Stable free radical po...

styrene nanocomposites were synthesized by in-situ atom transfer radical polymerization at 110oc. the variations of monomer conversion and the linearity of semilogarithmic kinetic plot, some signs of living polymerizationand constant radical concentration in the reaction medium, were revealed by gas chromatography technique (gc). according to the gel permeation chromatography (gpc) results, the...
متن کاملSurface-initiated Atom Transfer Radical Polymerization and Solution Intercalation Methods for Preparation of Cellulose-G-PS-G-PAN/MMT Bionanocomposite
Cellulose was modified by polystyrene (PS) and polyacrylonitrile (PAN) via free radical and living radical polymerization, and then cellulose was used as the matrix in the preparation of polymer/clay nanocomposite, through a solution intercalation method. For this purpose, first, the graft polymerization of styrene (St) onto cellulose fibers was performed by using suspension polymerization and ...
متن کاملLiving Radical Polymerization via Organic Superbase Catalysis
Organic superbases reacted with alkyl iodides (R–I) to reversibly generate the corresponding alkyl radicals (R). Via this reaction, organic superbases were utilized as new and highly efficient organic catalysts in living radical polymerization. The superbase catalysts included guanidines, aminophosphines and phosphazenes. Low-polydispersity polymers (Mw/Mn = 1.1–1.4) were obtained up to high co...
